Rachel Fine’s Journey To Transform Dance Wellness
Rachel Fine, the founder of Dance Nutrition, embarked on a mission to provide certified nutrition education that breaks free from the constraints of ‘dancer diet culture’.
Focused on nurturing dancers’ relationships with both their bodies and nutrition, Rachel’s approach aims to empower dancers and create a positive impact within the dance community.
Switching Software: After 5 Years On Thinkific’s All-In-One Platform
After over 5 years of using the all-in-one platform, Thinkific, Rachel decided to switch to AccessAlly in October 2022. Frustrated by limitations in design and control, she sought a solution that wouldn’t compromise her members’ user experience.
“It was more than just branding, it was about having control.”
Rachel values the trust of her members and prioritizes their security while using her membership site.
In addition to courses, she offers 1-1 coaching which can include discussions around sensitive topics. As a result, Rachel felt uneasy with her members having to register through a third-party platform.
Rather than crafting her membership around an external platform, Rachel decided she needed more control over her software and transitioned to AccessAlly.
“AccessAlly is like separate tools, it’s like dragging and dropping into my already built website that I love aesthetically…If someone is registering, they’re not registering for AccessAlly, they’re registering for Dance Nutrition.”
With more control over software, Rachel was no longer dependent on someone else’s platform.
“I am my own admin when people have trouble logging in. I am the one that can fix those issues and not have to deal with it again. When I had registration problems with Thinkific, it was their own platform issues that they had to fix.”
Another reason why Rachel switched to AccessAlly was because of pricing. Unlike many software options that add up costs for every new customer, you’ll only pay AccessAlly’s monthly or yearly fees. This ensures your business can thrive without unexpected expenses weighing it down.
“It [Thinkific’s pricing] was very frustrating to be reminded that every time I get a new client, I’m not getting what I fully charge – I was actually getting a little bit less.”
Sell More with AccessAlly: Crafting An Inclusive Membership Program For Varied Budgets
Central to Rachel’s vision is to offer members a range of access points into her program to ensure inclusivity and affordability.
Rachel’s use of different access models, from subscription-based memberships to one-time payments for live courses and digital ebooks, ensures that her program is accessible to a wide audience.
These varied entry points not only accommodate different preferences but also offer her members a comprehensive learning experience.
For instance, those who enter her platform through a one-time payment for a digital e-book are granted access to a distinct dashboard, differing from the dashboard of a subscriber. Notably, all members are able see everything that is available for purchase allowing Rachel to cross-sell her products.
“I like this control of opening and locking courses. Everyone can have a dashboard, you can see the various Offerings, it can be locked for you, and it entices people to buy.”
Teach Better with AccessAlly: Creating Client Touch Points With Personalized Experiences
Rachel is loving ProgressAlly, particularly the versatile use of the Private Notes feature on her site. Clients are using it to keep track of their personal notes, while Rachel herself is leveraging it for private conversations with her members.
“I think the Private Notes are a huge benefit to my customers..it’s a feature when they are in the membership and when they have it, their eyebrows raise, and it’s like ‘oh, this is really nice.”
Private notes enable personalized interactions directly related to specific learning points. These one-on-one Private Notes provide a platform for targeted discussions beneath particular videos or learning objectives. This framework encourages members to interact with Rachel at that moment of learning.
“As a dietician, it’s a very personal and individual journey. It’s incredibly important that I have the ability to reach out at any point in their learning.”
These Private Notes discussions then get saved into her member’s dashboard. Which has been super beneficial for members to refer back to because it is all in one place.
“An email gets lost…it is much easier to have everything under a personalized dashboard versus having emails all over the place.”
Engage Longer with AccessAlly: Unlocking Possibilities with Community and Gamification
A feature that Rachel is thrilled about for her members is AccessAlly’s point system. She sees it as an exciting addition to her program.
At present, she has it configured so that members can accumulate points through various activities, which can then be exchanged for the eBooks she has crafted over the years.
Another thing about AccessAlly is that we are always adding more features and tools (see our roadmap) for our clients to use. Notably, our recent integration of community tools was a game-changer.
This is one of the big selling points on why Rachel went with AccessAlly – the promise that as her membership grew, she’d have the opportunity to seamlessly incorporate CommunityAlly.
“Having these other tools that my customers can use that are in my control. Instead of having a Facebook group where my customers can connect, they can have a forum [on her own membership site].”
The People Behind AccessAlly: Rachel Felt Supported Throughout
While tech-savvy, Rachel is not a developer, so when she needed to reach out to our Customer Support team, Naomi and Scott (who were once AccessAlly users themselves), she found them to be incredibly attentive.
They were able to break things down and repeat when it came to supporting her during her transition from Thinkific to AccessAlly.
As Dance Nutrition makes a big impact on the dance community, we’re here every step of the way.
And for you too…whenever you are ready to work with a platform that gives you the flexibility and control to create a seamless user experience for your members.
Here’s to making this world a place where access to knowledge lifts everyone up.
