A “Reason to Return” Automation for Drip

AccessAlly makes it possible to build a number of automation campaigns to engage with your existing members.  Let’s walk through how the “Reason to Return” automation works.

If you’re not familiar with the phrase “reason to return”, it’s our coined phrase for re-engaging members who may not have been active in the past few weeks to prevent them from churning or not getting the results they signed up for due to lack of participation. By implementing a "Reason to Return" automation, you’ll be able to motivate these members and encourage them to increase their engagement.

This automation is triggered by applying a tag each time a member logs in to your membership or online course using AccessAlly Pro’s “Events” feature. This tag is synced within your CRM application and will trigger the automation. 

The next step in your automation will be to remove this tag to ensure the automation will keep running on a loop.  Once the login tag is removed, add a desired wait timer in your automation.  7, 14, 30 days - the duration is up to you.  If the member doesn’t log in again within that specified duration, the member will proceed to the next step in the automation which is an e-mail from you, giving them a “Reason to Return”.  Whether it’s to let them know about new content that has been added since they last logged in, a new bonus, or other incentive to re-engage with your content this is your chance to bring them back into your membership or course. You can set up a series of e-mails to send within a couple days at this phase of the automation in case they miss the first one.

The goal at the end of this automation in Drip is the reapplication of the logged in tag. 

This ensures that if a member logs in before the wait time is over, the Drip automation will pull them out of the automation before they receive the "Reason to Return" emails. The automation will restart and run accordingly. 

This type of campaign is a great way to help reduce churn because members may have become inactive for a variety of reasons and you don't want them to fall of the wagon and end up cancelling as a result.
